For God is Love

His love was in the seed of Christ, planted in our hearts
when
we first believed
It’s the driving force in our soul provoking us to be
the channels
of His goodness
Glorifying Him through Jesus Christ who first loved us
and gave
His life in love

It gives us holy confidence in God’s purposes even in
the trials
we don’t understand
It promotes such joy inexpressible and full of glory
beyond
our comprehension
It is the reason for God’s compassion and mercy,
forgiveness
and redemption

It is the source and fountain of God’s wonderful great plan
of Salvation
through Jesus
And like a river that trickles from God’s throne ever growing
into
an ocean of glory
It is a gift of grace to us when we accept that in perfect love
He
redeems our souls

And for this His love is expressed in the gift of His Son Jesus
who gave
His life for us
It is eternal, never ending, for it is part of His nature, His very
nature,
for God is love
It is immovable, unshakable, incorruptible, uncreated and everlasting
as God
is its source

It is selfless giving to all of God’s creation for we are the objects
of His love
and grace
It is backed by God’s seal of approval and is ever powerful in
its operation
to the very end
It penetrates to the core of our being because it is the nature
of God’s
indwelling Spirit

It fills, overflowing us with its virtue and fragrance that shows
God’s grace
working within
Who can escape its outstretched arms, the caresses of the perfect One
who
is its source
Who can refuse to respond to the power of its overture for out of it
flows
a song of praise

Its ultimate sacrifice, the laying down of one’s life for his friends
to raise them
to new life
Even the grave cannot silence its voice and the empty tomb is but
the first
of the resurrection
For the grave has no chains on love, no shackles to restrain its
constant
living melody

The Saints sing in harmony with the Angels of God in a constant chorus
of praise
God’s love freed the world of sin and corruption and made
the heart of man
His temple

For God is Love!
