Father's Day

Father, I see you in your people

The Zion of the living God

      Your sanctuary in the earth

Your habitation for evermore

Your handiwork and your workmanship

                                  Your family and your Army

Your Tabernacle and your dwelling place

Not a house made with hands

You sit on the throne above your heavens

Above Your creation You sit enthroned

Where You seek the heart of the repentant soul

To prepare a room for your Holy Place

In the very room where self once ruled

You take dominion as the invited guest

By the creature You made of earth and mud

To set above your created world

So who are we who in arrogance sit

Self exalted, eyes full of pride

Our minds demented by every sin

How could Your love this gulf overcome!
