Night and Day

The Day reveals the glory of the Lord
And the Night His heavenly splendor
The Day conceals the beauty of the stars
And the Night hides the wonders of the earth

The Day labors on, but the night always sleeping
The Day brightens our path, the Night cast no shadow
The Day gives birth to the sun, the night the moon and stars
The day produces bread, the night to rest our head

The Day is set for the sun’s race across the sky
And the Night, the moon in its course floats by
The Day warms everything in its sight
The Night cools our temper, praying in bed

The Day, our Father sets a table for all
But Night is for fasting, food for our soul
The Day is for talking, our problems resolved
But night for dreaming, God speaks to our heart

The Day clears the big shadow, the earth turns around
But Night darkens all, turns black with no light
The Day has clear vision, sees the Lord’s handiwork
And Night has its vision; we sleep the Lord’s awake

The Day shows the deeds done in righteousness
But night is for creatures, yet God sees every deed
The Day reveals the God’s sons of the light
But Night hides only briefly the sinner’s delight!
