Don’t Date!! Wait!

If your emotions are on life’s roller coaster,
Winding up and down and all around, spinning
Thoughts run wild, controlled by the whirl wind
The anchor of your soul cast overboard, adrift

In the later end a pool of tears daily shed
Unprotected emotions trampled in the dirt
Damaged by a lack of love and care, covering
By parents too busy to vigil their own seed

She looks for someone to stroke her whims,
To touch her with the promise of a friend
To take her out and show her off sometimes
Another football jacket to cover her bare shoulders

But it can’t protect her soul from harm’s way
When ripped away by the choices of its owner
Who found another to gain his ever charming
To walk hand in hand for a few moments of flirting

Another broken heart is stands now-in-waiting
Uncovered by her parent’s tender care
For a daughter too young for right discernment
And way too immature for child bearing

But wisdom is justified by her own children
By parents who watch out for their own heritage
Who know their own child is not yet ready
To go somewhere alone with those seeking affections

Of vulnerable lasses unable to reject life’s flirting passes
Who stroke the ego with words that only flatter
Instead of speaking God’s truth that really matters
Only self interested in gaining kisses in secret, stolen

From the maiden whose flower is soon fading
Trampled by the one who’s not her husband
Who sought not her good but her pleasure, consenting
To a joint venture to some garden, forbidden

When will she turn to a Husband who is faithful
A Life Giver and Healer of every soul’s deep bruises
One whose only desire is to help and save her
And give her a new life eternal and glorious

When will she come to the end of all her wandering
Into the emotional traps that snare her precious
And instead look to the only One who can rapture
Her soul with much love and godly goodness

Who’s faithful even to the death, to watch over
Every one that humbly turns to Him as Savior
Realizing the true need of their soul now hurting
From the years of boy’s promises, all broken

By them too immature to know how to be noble
Too self seeking of a few moments of sinful pleasure
To show true love from the Mighty God who created
The woman for man as a helpmeet not an object

From whom they can receive quick emotional fixes
To satisfy their own aberrant lusts, uncontrolled
By a Holy God who made man for His own glory
And not for pleasure seeking with selfish ambitions

But there is a solution to this human problem
Jesus gave up His life for a bride of His own choosing
And now He calls to all His sheep now straying
Far from His sheepfold and its walls of protection

He alone is able to heal His children and deliver
Washing them and holding them in His arms so loving
And raise them up to be God’s faithful servants
Free of their youthful sins to behold Him

Who is the Rock, Cornerstone and Foundation
For all who want to build a house that’s lasting
That will endure the storms of life, surely coming
To finally stand dressed in white, forever shinning
