Don’t Waste Time


The games you play

  The hours you spend

    Producing more vanity


The days you waste

  Chasing the rainbows

    For the pot of gold in its shadow


The months pass by

  The years do follow

    Then the end comes, full or hollow?

Rain, rain


Rain, rain! Let it come! Let it fall

   In sheets, by drops in a multitude!

Send down the rain, the former,

   the later and the in between!


Let it pour all over the earth!

   Let the seed He has planted germinate!

Let it grow! Let it provide the harvest,

   The abundant harvest of the Lord!

Another day working, production X

  Unknown factors produce the less

But one thing is certain to the working man’s mind

  He accomplished something and something’s left behind!

When starting out on something new



When starting out on something new

  Count all the costs that will accrue

    Add some figures for the unknown

      Then go forward in faith for the reward!

  Today’s what we have

    Today is for doing

      Today’s labor’s in the Master’s hands


Tomorrow’s always maybe

  If God wills and the time is at hand

    Tomorrow’s what we wait for

      For things to get better

    If yesterday’s doings

      Made things get better Today!

Life in the Slow lane



Life in the slow lane

  but not on a slow train

    running down a highway

      more like a skyway

        to get where I'm going don't need much money

          but sure need Jesus Christ, the King of Kings,

            Lord of Lords and Supreme ruler of the Universe!

Come to His River

Come to His river and drink of His love,
    to the healing waters drink freely in hope!
Bath your soul's aching in His perfect grace
    to be refreshed and restored without money, without price!

Make Me Like You


Lord, we need your discipline

  We need your mercy and forgiveness

    We need your truth and righteousness

      We need the walls of Your Holiness

And not our own ways!


Make me like You, Lord, make me like you

  Holy and pure, One purpose like You

    God’s will doing daily, a life full and true

      No other desire, just to be more like you!
