It Matters Not How ‘oft You Pray

It matters not how ‘oft you pray
If not in faith your prayer’s in vain
And true faith is not what you believe
True faith is agreeing with what God has said

Abraham agreed with what God had promised
He answered “amen” to what God had said
God gave him an heir, a son by promise
So by faith Abraham received his promised son

God’s word is filled with promises conditioned
On our response to what He has commissioned
But our claims as heirs are most often in vain
If we as Christ’s seed are unfaithful children
