To A Younger Sister

I have a little sister

How dear she is to me

Once dressed in white and shining

Showing God’s grace so free

Now what will be her future

A long life awaits still

The past now all forgiven

The Spirit of Christ renews

Like every man once fallen

The depths of sin now known

But the love of God and mercy

Makes us stand tall again

Does laughter fill her daytime

With her spirit now renewed

For this grace and wondrous mercy

Holiness is all we need

Yes, she stands victorious

She stood fast with sword in hand

Found the grace needed for victory

She fought the enemy while praising God

While others doubted virtue

I stood interceding both night and day

With my hands held high in praises

Confident in faith that she would stand

What now, what now, my sister

Heaven awaits the fruit you’ll bear

Day by day God’s grace, all sufficient

Will protect you as you grow in Him

You stood against the wiles of Satan

Held fast when others failed

I saw you when you faltered

then prayed on your behalf

I saw you call out to Jesus

He heard your cry to Him

He is the mighty victor

It was His grace that made you stand

Each night he raised me from my sleeping

Again and again, to pray for you

I stood fast with God’s strength

And prayed and prayed and prayed

By day I walked and stayed my watch

I saw that others had evil plans

I kept the vigil, my prayers held fast

My hope in Christ to see you endure

Now you returned to Jesus

Saw trials from Satan’s hand

And for this victory so precious

Is it indeed true you laugh

Ah yes, your flower fresh untainted

But you were not so wise to go

Into a din of vicious vipers

Alone and uncovered by friends you trust

But God was with you, guarding

Helped you in the battle to stand

And when others fell and stumbled

You stood fast and did not fall

Remember Jesus said “It’s finished”

So don’t return to the darkness past

Now you’re free in the Lord Jesus

So now stand always on Holy ground
